Arriving in town, I met a couple in the parking lot of a restaurant. Walking inside they invited me to sit with them. A waitress told me that I couldn't have my backpack and be inside. (The couple I had just met was highly offended on my behalf.) I did sit inside!
Turns out the lady I ate with works for a travel agency in Alaska. She told me all about the state. Wahooo
Two other hikers walked into the restaurant, they were told they smelt bad and weren't allowed to sit in the dining area. They showered two days ago, thus didn't smell bad.(not every place is hiker friendly)
Stopped in for a quick food resupply, and to check out the largest Cabella's store. Headed back to thee trailhead today and am excited to be approaching NY.
Oh, also I ran into my hiker friend Rebel Yell. He had gotten off the trail in Roanoke but after three days off, decided he needed to get back on! It was great to see him and exchange hiking stories from the last few weeks.
Happy trails!
