It was certainly a challenging climb but immediately worth the effort when above the tree line! I hiked along the ridge line over a few peaks and was in awe. I was overcome with the majestic beauty. The weather was unbelievable, especially for being in the Whites as I could see for miles. This section was by far one of my top favorites. I honestly think it made top five views lifetime and I have been blessed to see many vistas worldwide! ( Please add the whites to your bucket list) As it was more than 30 miles between parking lots, I carried my pack and slept in one of the shelters. I was happy to meet up with Bryson the second day as I was soaking wet and the visibility blocked all views. (This journey is all about timing!) Bryson has been experiencing trail magic of his own. He was grabbing breakfast and struck up conversation with the owner about how his girlfriend was thru hiking. His meal was on the house.
We took a zero in Jackson. My body is beginning to feel the aches of the Whites! Tomorrow I will be summiting Mt Washington. I am hoping the gusts of winds aren't 80mph and for good visibility.
We planned out a tentative schedule for the last two weeks of this incredible journey. As for now it is looking like a summit of Katahdin on July 2nd! (Exactly 4 months)
